Within the refuges we have a Child and Family Support Worker who can offer emotional support to the children and young people who come to the refuge with their parent.

 

The Child and Family Support Team also provide support to parents and use play-based activities to work therapeutically with the children and to strengthen family relationships.  They work with parents to help them to understand the impact and effects of domestic abuse on children and young people and how they can best support their own children.
